Goût d'empreinte
Gout d’empreinte was shot during Marie’s La Femme Fontaine (2017), an installation composed of concrete casts of different parts of the artist’s body. In this work, Marie subtly evokes the Pygmalion’s myth by attempting and embracing to be the artist, the muse and the sculpture all at once: an aching yet empowering symbol of the contemporary female. In Gout d’empreinte, licking the concrete cast of her own foot, the photograph can be read as auto eroticism podophila allowed by the medium of sculpture.
